FAQ
FRAMING FAQ
How are your frames made?
First, we start with wood moulding, which we hand cut to fit your new print. The wooden pieces are joined together, UV resistant acrylic is cut to size, your print is archivally mounted and then we put all the necessary hanging hardware on it for you.
What's "UV resistant acrylic", and why should I care?
UV resistant acrylic is a type of plexiglass that filters out harmful UV (ultraviolet) rays. These rays are shown fade colors over time, so we think it's important to use and we make sure it's included in every order we frame.
How can a frame be "acid-free"?
We use only acid-free materials for our custom framed prints, this includes reversible hinging tape, acid-free mat, and spacers. Doing so ensures the paper won't discolor over time - remaining vibrant in your collection for years and generations to come.
What do I need to hang my new framed print?
All our frames come with all necessary hardware and wire already installed, so all you need is a hammer!
How long does framing take?
Since all our frames are custom built by hand, please expect a two to three week delay until your new framed art ships. It'll be worth the wait!
CUSTOMER FAQs
What type of art and photography prints do you exhibit?
CARTARTSTORE exhibits limited edition art and photography prints of works of artists creating original art in every style and subject matter.
What paper will the images be printed on?
Your art prints will be printed on museum-quality, acid-free, lignin-free, archival fine art canvas paper. These features are important because the canvas paper will not yellow or disintegrate with time as other non-archival papers would.
Does the image on your site accurately represent what I will be sent?
We strive for a high degree of image accuracy, but, in some cases, the visual representation may be approximate.
How accurate are the item dimensions listed on your web pages?
The quoted dimensions refer to the canvas paper size and not the image size contained within the paper. We use standard paper sizes and we will not crop or otherwise amend the proportions of the original artwork to fit the paper sizes. This means that most prints will have a white border. This is ideal for the proper framing of the prints. We recommend that you purchase a frame one size up from the print size and have a custom mat cut to the image proportions. Please also note that prints that have square dimensions appear under the closest rectangular listing but will be printed as squares
